Film Review
This film tells a story about Baby Doll that  killed the enemy who live in her imagination world. Baby Doll had to do this in order to escape from Lennox House, the jail for mentally ill patients. This movie uses allot of dark color for the background, so it also has been referred to as "The dark vision of Alice in wonderland".
After  20 minutes from the start of the story, no one talks. The director Snyder, uses the long-shot and middle-shot to tell the viewer the development of events. The close-up camera angle to show the character's face and their eyes, so the viewer would know what they are feeling. Snyder also uses music and the sound of thunder, which gives this part of the story a stronger feeling, and also it makes this part  of the story not that boring and dry.
Sucker Punch has three main setting backgrounds. There is Lennox House; Dance Group and Baby Doll's imagination world. Snyder gives each layer of the story a different style, to make this film more interesting. For the Lennox House, the director uses white and dark blue tones for the main colors of the background. White gives viewers the feel of a  hospital, just like Lennox House. Blue is a melancholic color and used with white, the viewer has a sense of hopelessness, exactly as Lennox House always gives people a sense of hopelessness. The second main setting background is the Dance Group. This background was very different from the first. For Dance Group the director uses allot of bright light and strong colors. Light-red and gold color to enhancethe dance girls after make-up. The bright light diffuses, making a strong "halo" effect and thereby making the viewer feel like it's a  deep dream, a hint that all of this is just imagination. The third main setting is Baby Doll's imagination world, for this, director Snyder made four  different scenes with four differentobjectives. For the entire imagination world of Baby Doll, Snyder uses CG animation to do the background. From composition to color everything was perfecthowever, the character's poor acting  just destroyed the brilliance of the camera effects and CG animation. I observed when the girls were fighting, they just posed, with stiff action and without any fluidity.
The plot details of this movie are kind of funny. I have no idea why they have to find the fire and knife, they were useless. If she had not stolen the lighter from Mayor, she did not need to stab Blue. The development of this movie was very passive.
Overall, when I finished this movie I could remember nothing apart from the magnificent background. This movie does not have an appealing main idea, and good acting. From this film I can only learn how strong CG animation and good camera work can improve the story-line.
Additional:
- Who is Blue, who is Mayor
- You need to explain that there were a number of "tokens"  (like fire and knife) that needed to be collected before Baby Doll could free herself from Lennox House. You can still mention that these tokens have no relevance to the storyline though and are probably used only to broaden the storyline and plot of the story.
